NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rockford City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 7 S. Monroe Street in the City.  The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss (a) the proposed City Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Annual Budget and (b) the proposed levy of an additional 2 mills ad valorem property tax increasing the levy from the current levy of 10.9 mills to 12.9 mills to be levied on July 1, 2017.  The City Council is also considering at the same time the adoption of new water and sanitary sewer rates and charges.
